November 11, 2018 marks the 100 years Anniversary after the signing of the armistice that ended the First World War on 11th of November 1918 which led Poland to be placed on the map of Europe again after more than 100 years of partitions and foreign rule.
Joy of Freedom celebrates this significant event of Polish history by featuring new work of Polish artists living and creating in the United States. This special event will present artworks in different media like Painting, Fiber Art and Installation.

Born in Warsaw, Poland Ania Gilmore received BFA with honors from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, studied printmaking, book arts and fibers at the Rhode Island School of Design, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine. Her portfolio includes works on paper, artist books, fiber art and mixed-media. Ania is a Co-Founder of New England Book Artists. She worked as an Educator and an Independent Curator in the US and internationally. Her works were shown and awarded in several Museums and Publications including Hangaram Art Museum, Bojagi Forum, Chojun Textile & Quilt Art Museum in Seoul, Korea, From Lausanne to Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale in Tsinghua University Art Museum in Beijing, China, Musashino Art University Museum in Tokyo, Japan, New Bedford Art Museum, Fitchburg Art Museum, Fuller Craft Museum, Art New England, Fiber Art Now, Artistry in Fiber, Artscope, and The Creators of the Image of Polonia.
